Vodka with flavorings may be banned in Russia


In Russia, the production of vodka with golden flakes and non-plant aromatic additives may be banned from 2021.

This was reported by the newspaper "Izvestia" with reference to the working group on alcohol and alcoholic beverages Rosalkogolregulirovanie.

It is noted that in case of prohibition of the use of non-plant raw materials, the assortment will decrease in the alcohol market.

It is also specified that according to the current Russian GOST, gold and silver flakes, coins, stamps weighing no more than three grams can be added to vodka.

On October 21, the Ministry of Finance of Russia proposed raising the minimum prices for vodka, cognac and brandy from January 1, 2020.
