In the eleventh grade of the Hebron Bin Ahmed Secondary School in Khorfakkan, the Taliban devised a device to convert plastics into fuels that can be used for various purposes, as an "environmentally friendly" solution to the problem of plastic waste. They called it "Green Plastic Project". .

The project's supervisor, Khalid Khalil Al Hosani, told Emirates Today that the idea of the project, implemented by the students Khalfan Al Naqbi and Omar Al Hammadi, within the school's innovation center, is based on finding environmentally friendly solutions to the problem of plastic waste and reducing its environmental damage through reuse. Plastic in the form of fuel.

He explained how to turn plastic into fuel, as it goes through five steps, is to put plastic waste inside a container made of steel, and heat the plastic at high temperatures, to complete the process of chemical decomposition, until the plastic turns into gas, is transported through pipes, then condensed gas and converted to Liquid, then assemble the product (fuel) into a dedicated container.

Al Hosani pointed out that the project has several benefits in the field of sustainable development, including the dissemination of the concept of sustainability and conservation of natural resources for future generations, and contribute to the strengthening of the emirate of Sharjah in the area of sustainability, and contribute to reducing the risks of environmental plastics, and access to fuel from new sources and inexpensive And contribute to environmental solutions to the plastic waste problem.

He pointed out that the project won the Sharjah Sustainability Award in 2018, and the project on behalf of the school received a patent from the US Patent Office in New York, the same year, and the Taliban participated in the project at the `` WETEX 2019 '' at the Dubai World Trade Center last month .
