“Sokolov did not sign the appeal. He left this question to the defense. Since the lawyer is not limited in procedural actions, the complaint was filed without his signature, ”RIA Novosti quoted the accused’s lawyer as Alexander Pochuev.
According to him, the complaint was motivated by the fact that the defense was not able to prepare documents on the premises where the historian could be at the time of the house arrest.
“To ask for a house arrest in his apartment on the Moika would be blasphemy.” Now we are preparing papers on the premises, which his relatives are ready to provide, ”the lawyer said.
Earlier, Pochuev said that Sokolov was not informed of his dismissal from St. Petersburg State University.
According to the investigation, on November 7, a historian shot a graduate student, on the night of November 9, he decided to get rid of the body and dismembered it. On the morning of November 9, an associate professor of St. Petersburg State University was picked up from the water near the Moika embankment with a backpack in which severed female hands and a traumatic gun were found.
On November 11, the court decided to detain Sokolov and was charged with murder.
