The tragic accident occurred on Friday night on April 12 this year. A four-year-old boy died after being hit by a train.

The boy is believed to have played at a school yard and made his way up the track area through a hole between a fence and a noise board. A slip that occurred due to rebuilding along the track.

Who was actually responsible for the hole in the fence has been debated after the fatal accident and SVT has previously shown that many knew about the problem even before the accident, without it being rectified.

Investigation is closed

Immediately after the accident, the police launched a preliminary investigation with the headline causing the death of another. So the preliminary investigation is now closed, since no one can be identified as having been criminally negligent, writes Kristianstadsbladet.

- We have heard a lot of people who have been involved, at the municipality, the Swedish Transport Administration and Peab, and have come to the conclusion that no individual person has been criminally negligent. This is the result of the preliminary investigation, says Johan Eriksson, senior chamber prosecutor to the newspaper.

The prosecutor emphasizes that they have also investigated the organizations' debt, mainly then the municipality and the Swedish Transport Administration, but that no one can be held responsible for the tragic accident either.

- You can always sit in retrospect and say that this should have been done, and this should have been done. But overall, this has been done correctly, says Johan Eriksson. This is an extremely unfortunate accident, says Johan Eriksson to Kristianstadsbladet.
