This was stated by the official representative of the UN Secretary General Stefan Dujarric.

“The Secretary General asked Mr. Jean Arnault to start interacting as his personal envoy with all parties in Bolivia and to offer UN assistance in finding a peaceful resolution to the crisis,” RIA Novosti quoted Dujarrick as saying.

He added that "Arno will leave for Bolivia today."

Earlier, Bolivian President Evo Morales, Vice President Alvaro Garcia Linera, Senate Head Adriana Salvierrara and Senate First Vice Speaker, as well as the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Viktor Borda, resigned.

Bolivian Senate Vice-Speaker Janine Agnes said the presidency is being transferred to her.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called on all the political forces of Bolivia to find a legal way out of the crisis after the resignation of Morales.
