It was in 2014 that the municipality, in connection with the sale of an industrial house to a private operator, also happened to sell the building in which the fire station is located. The price for the entire property was then SEK 4.2 million.

The property owner has since wished to have SEK 10 million to sell back the fire station to the municipality - a too expensive price tag, the municipality thought, which instead sued the property owner.

"Feels nice"

The District Court of Appeal has now decided that the municipality has the greatest right to the building and believes that neither the municipality nor the buyer had intended that the fire station should be included in the purchase.

Tomas Mörtsell, municipal councilor in Storuman, is satisfied with the verdict.

- We can say that we have won and it feels great. This means that we know what applies and can move on.
