- Home care has many advantages, partly that the child does not have to be moved out of his environment where the child has his toys, his siblings maybe and his parents. But there is also less risk of health-related infections, says Sofia Grimheden, nurse at the pediatric and adolescent clinic in Växjö.

Sampling and drug treatment

It is primarily the severely ill and chronically ill children with many visits to the care that are prioritized. The care that home health care performs is, among other things, sampling, giving blood and also various drug treatments, but sometimes the children also just need to talk.

- We see the importance of bringing the healthy home to the children and where the play therapy is central. We have the play therapist with us once a week and it is fantastic even for the siblings who are at home, ”she says.

Got the car as a gift

The Kronoberg region's children's car got the car as a gift from Växjö Charity, Kronoberg's business and the Linnea Dahl foundation. Ingrid Löf Dahl and Santhe Dahl created the foundation in the name of their daughter after she recovered.

Now children and youth clinics can offer home health care every day of the week.

- We from the children's clinic offer home health care three days a week right now and our goal is to be able to offer it every weekday. With the new car it requires less changeover time, so if you think four visits a day five days a week, Sofia Grimheden says.
