So far, there is no information on whether the students will travel home or not. But Karin Hermansson, the head of department at the international office at Jönköping University, confirms that they have been in contact with students from Jönköping University who study in Hong Kong and now everyone has been advised to go home.

- The overall location information is the reason why we now ask them to go home, then we will see if they do, says Karin Hermansson.

The universities have closed

Universities The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong and The Education University of Hong Kong which have an exchange with Jönköping University, have now closed according to Karin Hermansson. As the students thus have no university to go to, it is recommended that students travel home to Sweden.

- We have had contact with everyone and they are doing well, we have ongoing contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both in Stockholm and on location in Hong Kong, we follow the situation but have not made any other decisions, she says.
