The elected deputy of the PP by Vizcaya, Beatriz Fanjul ( Bilbao , 1991), has been tanned in two tough election campaigns with rivals of the size of Patxi López or Aitor Esteban. His fresh image and his overwhelming position against nationalism and with the victims of terrorism - whom he mentions in all his public interventions - threaten his political position with the most recognizable profile of the Basque PP. Fanjul wants his seat to be another push to politically reinforce his president and friend Pablo Casado.

After the results of last Sunday when she stayed at only 163 votes of being a deputy for Vizcaya, was she still hoping to get the 89th seat for the Pablo Casado PP? On Sunday I got up with the feeling that it was going to be very difficult to achieve it, almost impossible and on Tuesday night I went to bed convinced that with the counting and the vote abroad we had this seat so important for the Basque PP and for the national PP closer. Why is it so important for the Basque PP Recover representation in the Congress of Deputies - The Basque PP cannot afford not to have a voice in Congress. But it is even more important because it is the beginning of a recovery and a hopeful future for the Basque Country. You wanted to emphasize especially the personal support of Pablo Casado, why? Pablo Casado was the one who personally opted for me. It is well born to be grateful and if I have been a candidate it has been thanks to the confidence that Pablo Casado gave me. And if we have achieved this seat, it has also been thanks to the support of my colleagues in the Basque Country. He has already expressed his decision to be the leader of the opposition after the pre-agreement between Sánchez and Iglesias, does he close the door to any agreement between Sánchez and Married in this term? Pedro Sánchez has chosen those who only know how to destroy. He was clear and so were we. In fact I have warned and repeated during the election campaign; Pedro Sánchez already had partners, and if Sánchez was me, I would have a resounding no. One of those possible partners is the PNV, are you surprised that the nationalists are willing to endorse a Government of Sánchez and Iglesias? For me it is nothing new. The PNV was decisive for the motion of censure against Rajoy to move forward. That's where all this started. The PNV is responsible for this situation. The PNV is the long arm of all those who want to break coexistence in Spain. Why does it have the political objective of confronting nationalism? Because I want to be the antithesis of nationalism. I want a more open Basque Country and I will not give in to its ideological impositions. The PNV is like a religion. It will take a lot of work to pull down. There is no moderate nationalism. We all know that the preferred partner of the PNV is EH Bildu, but the PNV gives the image of being a party that gives institutional balance in Madrid by having supported the PSOE or the PP depending on their interests. It seems a moderate game ... It is not. It is sibylline. Sell smoke. Its only objective is the independence of the Basque Country and goes hand in hand with EH Bildu. It is proposing a reform of the Statute that aims to divide the Basques between nationals and citizens. The PNV here is the same as the one in Madrid and you are not moderated. You insisted very much on the need to combine the electoral offer of PP and Citizens, at least in Euskadi. Did you expect the fall of support to Citizens in Euskadi and in the whole of Spain? What has happened with Citizens is quite significant and in the case of Euskadi, it is imperative that the right-wing constitutionalist center be brought together. It is a necessity. We have to work on it. We don't have to look at our differences but be generous. What we need to do in the Basque Country is much larger than the partisan interests of some acronyms or others. It is a necessity that the Basques have and a responsibility that we have the politicians. Does the resignation of Albert Rivera facilitate that PP and Cs make a joint opposition to a government of Sánchez and Iglesias? The PP is a responsible party and what will prevail , as he has done so far, is that Spain is doing well. You will try to make that happen. My goal is that we start with the Basque Country.
