Tunisian Ennahdha Movement chairman Abdel Karim Harouni said on Tuesday that the movement has chosen a candidate in line with its positions and its government program to head the government.

Harouni added that the movement's president, Rashid Ghannouchi, will transfer the name of the candidate - who was not disclosed - to the President of the Republic, Qais Said, to be assigned personal consultations government.

The same spokesman told a press conference after the 33rd session of the Shura Council of the Movement that the person chosen to lead the government will be the official consultations with various parties concerned with the aim of forming a government.

Harouni pointed out that the selection of the personality nominated by Ennahdha came as a result of consultations with political parties and national organizations did not specify.

The Anatolia news agency quoted Tunisian sources as calling it close to the negotiations to form a government names of six personalities strongly nominated for the presidency of the government, including: Mongi Marzouk, Tawfiq Rajhi, Fadel Abdul Kafi, Habib Crowley, Marwan Abbasi, and Elias Ffakhakh.

Presidency of Parliament
Ennahda's choice of its candidate for prime minister comes just a day after the new Tunisian parliament elected its president, Rashid Ghannouchi, as its president in its first plenary session. Ghannouchi's election came after he was backed by the Heart of Tunisia party in the vote, opening the way for a possible coalition between the two parties to form a government.

In the October 6 legislative elections, Ennahda won 52 out of 217 seats, with the Tunis Heart Party second with 38.
