Sokolov's lawyer called slanderous data about the beating of another student

It is noted that earlier the media began to refer to the publication of the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets in 2018, in which a student of St. Petersburg State University told that Sokolov allegedly beat her.

The material states that the student’s statement to the police was not accepted.

“The defense considers this publication, if any, to be libelous and anonymous libel,” the lawyer said.

Earlier, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the leadership of the SSU SK in St. Petersburg to check the media data on possible illegal actions of an associate professor of SPSU Oleg Sokolov against another student.
