Åkesson believes that the government has shown an inability to act after the recent acts of violence and shootings, especially in Malmö.
"The Minister of Justice has failed in his mission and therefore we demand that Morgan Johansson not enjoy the Riksdag's confidence," says Jimmie Åkesson during his speech in the Riksdag's party leadership debate which was really about EU policy.
The Moderates and the Christian Democrats support a declaration of confidence in the Minister of Justice. However, the Center Party, the Liberals and the Left Party have already announced that they will not support the declaration of confidence against Johansson. For a declaration of mistrust to go through, a majority of the Riksdag's 349 members must vote yes. So it does not appear at this stage that the Minister of Justice could be put to the vote.
