1177 becomes Swarmish - "It feels great fun"

There are a total of 20 nurses who will be present at Kullbergska Hospital, Mälar Hospital and Nyköping's laser hospital. According to the region, the change will mean no practical difference for patients other than that nurses from Sörmland respond.

- It's fantastic fun because it means that we get the whole care chain connected, from counseling to the health care center. It will mean a lot to both our patients and the staff, ”says Monica Johansson (S), Chairman of the Regional Board of Sörmland.

Region Sörmland is the second last region in the country to take over 1177 own-care guide. Previously, the region had an agreement with the healthcare contractor Medhelp and then it was the nurses in Stockholm who answered the calls from Sörmland. Earlier this year, Computer Sweden revealed that Medhelp leaked information about patients.

- When you do not have access to the Sörmland health care as you have when you work within it, then there can be some hacking in the chain and that is what we want to eliminate, says Monica Johansson.

However, the decision to take over medical advice in the region came as early as April last year. The hope is to make the path to proper care easier for patients.

- I think the quality can be better just by being locally based. That we know the county and that we can refer in a wise and well thought out way, I think will be a profit, says counseling nurse Elina Andersson.
