INTERVIEW

Four French jihadists and their seven children currently detained in Turkey are expected to be repatriated to France soon. These women were detained until recently in the Kurdish camp of Ain Issa. But with the Turkish offensive and the bombings, they were released by the Kurds and recovered by the Turkish authorities. Radicalized and potentially dangerous, these jihadist women are all known to the French intelligence services.

"They are four French, some are already known, they were married to known fighters of the Islamic State," said Jean-Charles Brisard, president of the Center for Terrorism Analysis, interviewed by Europe 1 "I think of Amandine Le Coz, who was married to Yacine Rettoun, who is known to have committed abuses in the area, with whom she had a child."

"A recruiter of the Islamic State"

Another woman is well known in French services. "Another woman also, who is a British resident, but of French nationality, who is called Tooba Gondal, who is 25 years old and who joined ISIS in 2015," the specialist continues. "She is known as a recruiter of the Islamic State, and she has brought in many teenage girls who have married fighters in the area, and she is a dangerous person in the ideological sense of the word."

"As for the others, we do not know much about their career and their commitment, especially personal, to the Islamic State, other than being women fighters," admits Jean-Charles Brisard.

Upon their arrival on the territory, the four jihadists will be supported according to the "Cazeneuve protocol." They will be given to France, expected of course at the descent of the plane, by French officials ", details Jean-Charles Brisard. "They will be immediately judiciarized. The children will be placed. But women will be incarcerated. "
