Several employees at Torgbacken's preschool have been affected by cough, runny eyes and other asthma-like symptoms for just over a month, something that P4 Blekinge was the first to tell.

According to the local trade union, many people feel bad about the situation.

- They are worried about what is happening and if something in the house needs to be addressed. They think that not many people can imagine that they are feeling ill, but that there is nothing that makes them not work, says Daniel Deleuran, chairman of Karlskrona Municipal Council.

Has been mold

This is not the first time staff have felt bad about the indoor environment at Torgbacken's preschool. Three years ago, SVT Nyheter Blekinge was able to reveal that both children and staff were in bad measure in the premises and that it had then been established that there had been moisture problems in the basement for a long time and that there was visible mold on old building waste.

Several measures have been taken since then, but now staff are worried that the problems have returned.

- I look at it seriously and no matter what you come up with, I expect some kind of action from the employer and that you take it as seriously as we do, says Daniel Deleuran.

New surveys

Yesterday, Karlskrona Municipality decided that new investigations should be made of the air in the premises.

- We take a serious look at these signals. We have started an air measurement from yesterday so we will see what it shows and how we proceed after that, says Marina Eriksson, Head of Department Karlskrona Municipality.

Can one need to move the business?

- I can't answer that at the moment and I don't want to speculate, but we have a decision meeting tomorrow that I hope will lead to us knowing a more long-term plan for preschool, says Marina Eriksson.
