“Russia over the past 12-13 years has been a beer country. We have long been not a vodka country, not a country of wine consumption. Today, beer consumption with beer drinks is at the level of 7.5 billion liters per year. Moreover, all the alcohol that is drunk in Russia over the year is a little more than 10 billion liters. As regards beer drinks specifically, this product has grown sharply in volume over the past five to six years, ”the expert said.
Drobiz also noted that at present about 800 million liters of beer are drunk per year.
“This is a huge amount, and I do not consider it necessary to increase the degree of this drink. Yes, it will remain in the role of a beer, but in fact it will compete with wine products, ”he said.
Earlier, manufacturers proposed to remove the restriction on the sale of beer drinks in Russia with a strength of more than 7%.
Beer producers intend to initiate the introduction of appropriate amendments in order to open the import into Russia of strong varieties of craft beer available on international markets.
