"Your policy kills": MEP Danièle Obono (LFI) on Tuesday accused the Prime Minister of "anti-social policies" for pushing the student from Lyon to self-immolation, drawing back the critics Secretary of State Gabriel Attal, who castigated his "dangerous incantation".

"Mr. Prime Minister, precariousness kills, it is one of the consequences of your anti-social policies. At how many deaths will you put an end to it?", Violently decried the MP during questions to the National Assembly, addressing Edouard Philippe. She had just mentioned the 22-year-old student who immolated himself in Lyon Friday in front of a university restaurant, and who is still between life and death in the hospital.

In financial difficulty - he had lost his scholarship in "tripled" his second year at the University of Lyon 2 - the young man explained his gesture in a message read Tuesday. "Today I will commit the irreparable, if I target the Crous building it is not by chance, I am aiming for a political place," said the student before going to the act.

In her response to the MP, the Secretary of State for Youth, Gabriel Attal, deplored this "tragedy" and recalled that the government was working to improve the situation of students.

"This young man accuses your policy, (...) it's new deaths that will happen because of this policy, many people have realized that you have nothing to do with their lives, you prefer to leave them to kill and designate migrants and students as scapegoats, "Danièle Obono replied.

"We, we act, you, you are in the dangerous incantation, be a little responsible", launched Gabriel Attal, under the applause fed by the majority.
