According to Interfax, he said this at the Astana Club political forum, which takes place in the capital of Kazakhstan.

“We see that the demand for creating an authoritative, global platform for promoting the agenda of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation is growing in the world. With this in mind, I consider it necessary to initiate the creation of a Global Alliance of Leaders for Nuclear-Weapon-Free Weapons, ”Nazarbayev said.

He noted the possibility of joining efforts in the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons by leading scientists of the world, authoritative politicians, diplomats and invited the forum participants to discuss the prospects of creating such an international association.

At the same time, he was invited to resume the practice of holding global summits on nuclear safety every two years and noted the country's readiness to host one of such events in its capital.

“Kazakhstan has a moral right to this in front of the whole world,” he stressed.

Earlier, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev commented on the United States withdrawing from the INF Treaty, as well as the possible withdrawal of the United States from the Open Skies Treaty.

According to him, this leads to a "lowering of the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons," multiplying the risks for all of mankind.

Tehran was also informed of a possible withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in the event of the final termination of a nuclear deal and from the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA).

At the same time, as stated by the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abbas Mousavi, the decision to withdraw from the NPT by Tehran has not yet been made.
