In the wake of the largest earthquake in metropolitan France in sixteen years, with a recorded magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale, about 200 people are preparing to spend a second night out of their home, in the small commune of Teil, in Ardeche, severely affected.

Housing becomes too dangerous

"We called our insurance, but the expert has not passed yet, we do not know when he will come in. But if there is no one [Wednesday], I think I'll go back to the hotel As a security measure, we have no choice, "he explains. Somewhat lost families, where you have to find housing. But the municipality will not be able to cover all the requests. "Finding 200 homes on the Teil is almost impossible," said Mayor Olivier Pévérelli. "We have a team that identifies all the available housing and we also think about mobile home solutions, even in a sustainable situation." Tuesday, the prefect said that "everyone would be relocated tomorrow night (Wednesday night)".

Nevertheless, finding adequate housing for each family is still difficult, but 24 hours after the disaster, solidarity is already in place and neighboring municipalities also list all available housing.
