The reason is that the Migration Board has made a decision on how to interpret a judgment in the district court from this summer. Halmstad is the municipality in the country where most people - 75 people - can stand without housing when the Migration Board starts to print affected people in February next year.

According to Ella Kardemark (KD), the Swedish Migration Board has not taken into account the situation of the individuals and the municipalities' opportunities to offer housing, which the authority previously expressed that they would take into account.

- You can't have broken a dew. It is difficult to imagine a worse situation for a youth than being both homeless and without compensation. The question of housing is not even posed to Halmstad municipality and there are not 50 empty homes in Halmstad waiting, says Ella Kardemark (KD).

The municipality has no final plan

She believes that the government does not take responsibility for its decision to push through the high school law.

- If you have any form of reality, you understand that even a youth with good conditions will find it difficult to find a home. It will be extra difficult for these young people who may not even have a family that can help support. You put young people who have started their studies in a very difficult situation, says Ella Kardemark (KD).

She emphasizes that the municipality today does not have a final plan for how to handle the upcoming situation.

- This message came yesterday and I had really hoped that the government had accepted the heavy criticism that had come. Not only from Halmstad. If you are to stick to this message, you must at least send in funding to facilitate something for the municipalities who happen to have a large asylum accommodation, says Ella Kardemark (KD).
