Now, every sample should be DNA-analyzed at the Natural History Museum. The last inventory was made five years ago, and there were an estimated 362 bears in the county.

- We are glad that so many people have collected samples, that is 25 percent more samples than at the last collection in 2014, says Jessica Åsbrink at the Swedish Museum of Natural History in a press release.

The fact that more samples were collected does not mean that there are more bears. By spring 2020, the analysis will be complete. It will become a basis for the County Administrative Board's predator management.
