Government: Bolivia's ex-president Morales applies for asylum in Mexico

La Paz (AP) - Following his resignation as President of Bolivia, Evo Morales has requested asylum in Mexico. Morales had called him and made a formal request, said Mexico's Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard. Mexico will grant him asylum on humanitarian grounds. The life of Morales is in danger in Bolivia, said Ebrard. According to media reports, followers of Morales moved to the seat of government in La Paz.
