Facebook must ban John de Mol's ad advertisements from the social medium. The court in Amsterdam ruled this on Monday.

De Mol and Facebook have been in conflict for almost a year. The name and image of De Mol and his son Johnny were used in niche advertisements for crypto currency. Visitors were promised a method to get rich. They had to transfer an amount for that. The victims could whistle for their money.

In the last year in particular, more and more counter advertisements are appearing, using the name and image of famous Dutch people. For example, the advertisements misused the names and images of Alexander Klöpping, Ruud Feltkamp and Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. The design of media such as NOS and NU.nl have also been used.

In the case between De Mol and Facebook, the social medium stated that the company is trying to do everything to stop the advertisements. But sometimes an advertisement slips through the control systems according to the company.

Conversations between De Mol and Facebook ended in nothing.
