“Sesame Street”, an educational program for children in the United States, broadcast in more than 150 countries and regions around the world, has celebrated 50 years since the start of broadcasting. In New York, a commemorative event was held with actors who appeared on the program.

"Sesame Street" is an educational program for children produced by an NPO in the United States that began broadcasting on TV in November 1969, 50 years ago.

The comical exchanges of characters set in New York ’s fictional street “Sesame Street” are loved around the world and broadcast in over 150 countries and regions.

On the 10th, the 50th anniversary of the broadcast, a commemorative event was held at a museum in New York, and actors Bob McGrath and others who had appeared for many years from the beginning of the program participated.

“It ’s my pleasure to have been loved by people all over the world for 50 years,” said Mr. McGrath.

Characters appearing on the program, such as “Big Bird” and “Elmo”, were also exhibited at the venue, and visitors took a commemorative photo and talked about their favorite characters.
