The US military has resorted to changes in the map of the deployment of its forces in Syria and to strengthen its presence near the oil fields, following the operation "spring of peace" carried out by Turkey in the area east of the Euphrates River.

The operation aimed to eliminate what Turkey calls the "terrorist corridor" on its southern border, establish peace and stability, and establish a "safe area" to which Turkey is transferring part of the Syrian refugees on its territory.

US forces evacuated more than half of their bases in Syria during the Spring of Peace, but have returned to some of those bases.

U.S. intervention in the war in Syria began in September 2014, with air strikes against ISIS, and Washington relied on the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as a ground force in the face of the growing ISIS threat, providing them with weapons as well as air cover.

The US military has boosted its presence on the ground by establishing military points and bases in areas occupied by these Kurdish forces, gaining more momentum from 2015.

Through special units and equipment located at those bases and military points, the United States provided support to SDF operations against ISIS.

Although US President Donald Trump announced last year that he wanted to withdraw US troops from Syria, the military presence is still there.

During and after the procedure
During Operation Spring of Peace, the United States withdrew from 16 military bases and points from Manbij to Ain al-Arab and Raqqa to Hasakah.

Despite the withdrawal of US forces from all bases and points in Raqqa, Manbij and Ain al-Arab, it maintained its presence in the oil-rich Deir Ezzor, and its bases in the oil fields in Hasakeh.

It withdrew from the bases and points of Tal al-Baydar and Sawamah good morning and the minister in Hasakah and class and Hawa Hawa and islands and sugar factory and Ain Issa in Raqqa, and the ruin of love and Jalabiya and Sabbath and Mashta Noor and Sreen in the eye of the Arabs, in addition to Saidia and Dadat and silos in Manbij.

Days before the spring of peace, US forces evacuated four checkpoints on the border with Turkey.

After the "spring of peace" stopped, the US military returned to some of the military bases and points it vacated during the operation. US forces have returned to all of their bases in al-Hasakah and Sarin, south of Ain al-Arab, with the prospect of withdrawing from the latter because of the ambiguity of the situation around them.

Washington also returned its troops to the Jazra base in Raqqa, sent a few soldiers to protect the sugar plant base, and never returned to Manbij.

On November 4, the United States began building two bases in Deir Ezzor, sending reinforcements to 250-300 troops, as well as vehicles, armored vehicles and rocket launchers.
