“Artificial intelligence systems can only be created by intellectually well-trained people. We need to multiply the volume and quality of training programmers, mathematicians, computer linguists, data processing specialists, ”the head of state said.

He added that Russian universities and colleges should occupy leading positions in the field of AI.

"The ability to work with artificial intelligence, to navigate in this environment, should become a mandatory requirement for any profession: in economics, business, education, healthcare and law enforcement and, of course, at all levels of government," Putin said.

The President emphasized that it is necessary to give artificial intelligence more data, as well as "consistently remove contrived barriers to their use." At the same time, he noted the importance of guaranteeing the security of interests and rights of citizens.

“I repeat, artificial intelligence is a resource of tremendous power. Who will own it, I have said repeatedly in public, that will break far ahead, will gain a huge competitive advantage. It is no coincidence that the technological race that has already unfolded in the world will be the toughest and most uncompromising in the history of our civilization, ”the Russian leader said.

In early October, Vladimir Putin approved a national strategy for the development of artificial intelligence until 2030.

In September, the Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Russian government agreed to jointly develop the high-tech field of artificial intelligence.

The head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin praised the readiness of the Russian economy for the application of artificial intelligence technology.
