Since the first of November, there is now SMS-rescue in the region Östergötland. The idea is that volunteers with knowledge of cardiac resuscitation should be able to quickly be on site and assist in, for example, cardiac arrest.
Sanna Anell in Mjölby is one of the 2300 that have registered so far.

"Very important"

- Saving lives is very important. Just doing one small thing does me a lot of good, ”Sanna Anell tells SVT News East.

According to the Heart Lung Foundation, about 10,000 people are affected by sudden cardiac arrest in the country each year. In approximately 6,000 cases, cardiac resuscitation is initiated by ambulance personnel.
