by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 09 November 2019The President of the United States Donald Trump, in his message for the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, writes that what happened "is a lesson for oppressive regimes and rulers all over the world: no Cortina of iron can contain the iron will of a people determined to be free ".

In the message Trump denounces how, despite "the Cold War has been over for some time, tyrannical regimes in the world continue to use repressive tactics of Soviet-style totalitarianism, which have cast a long and dark shadow over history".

The United States, explained Donald Trump, will continue to work with Germany, "among our most precious allies", "to ensure that the flames of freedom burn like a beacon of hope and opportunity for the whole world to see".

Moreover, according to the White House leader, "the United States and our partners and allies remain determined in the uncontrollable commitment to advance the principles of individual freedom that have sustained peace and unprecedented prosperity".
