British singer Pete Doherty was taken into custody in Paris on Thursday night after being arrested for buying cocaine in the ninth arrondissement, sources agree, confirming Point information.
The 40-year-old former Libertine member, who fought to oppose his arrest, was then intoxicated, according to a police source, who said there was no had no injuries during the operation.
At the time of his arrest, he also tried to get rid of two bags containing cocaine, including an open and partly consumed, added the source.
Pete Doherty, also known as former model Kate Moss's boyfriend, has repeatedly made headlines for her drug-related excesses.
In July 2012, he was thrown out of a luxury detoxification center in Thailand for not showing a willingness to fight his addiction to heroin.
