The aircraft was parked on the street when a technician felt a smoke smell in the cabin and alerted. It had then left Östersund and landed in Stockholm during Friday afternoon.

- We received an alarm at 17.33 from the tower that there was smoke odor in an aircraft, states Sara Jönsson, assistant flight rescue manager at the Maritime and Air Rescue Center and continues:

- It has probably been hit by a flash.

Passengers had left

The smoke smell alarm came at 17.33 when all passengers departed.

Ulf Tholén, chief operating officer at the Stockholm Fire Department, says that ten forces were initially on their way to assist Arlanda's rescue service. However, they returned home later when the situation was under control.

Exactly when the lightning strike should have happened is still unclear, says Ulf Tholén.
