The young Pharaohs beat (1-0) the Aiglons of Mali in the opening match of the U23 CAN qualifier for the Tokyo Olympics.

The Egyptian Olympic team has ideally launched its U23 CAN by winning (1-0) against Mali Friday at the international stadium in Cairo. The young Pharaohs ensured the minimum thanks to a goal from the head of Mostafa Mohamed well served by the left foot of Abou El Fotouh (29th).

It is a short, but precious, victory for the Egyptians looking for participation in the next Olympics but also buyback after the bad CAN of their elders last July. " The goal is simple: to qualify in Tokyo 2020 and win the trophy ," said coach Shawky Gharib. We have the obligation to achieve performances to satisfy the fans especially after the premature elimination of the A selection of the CAN last July ". The Egyptian technician, who competed as a player at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, dreams of sending his protégés to Tokyo.

It is well in waiting for the second match against Ghana next Monday.
