In its second edition under the slogan 'The Fourth Industrial Revolution: Technologies Without Borders', the Oman Science Festival 2019 will be held in Oman for five days.

The festival targets students from schools, colleges, universities, educators, academics, researchers and parents, as well as government, civil society and private sector institutions involved in various fields of science.

The festival, a national program established under the directives of Sultan Qaboos, seeks to introduce the program of knowledge development in science, mathematics and environmental geography concepts in order to contribute to raising the level of academic achievement of students, and encourage them to research, investigation, scientific thinking and development of their talents of innovation, through a range of Tests, competitions and various projects in science, mathematics and environmental geography concepts.

The festival aims to deliver science to students in particular and society at large through easy means and stimulating ways of creative thinking, and to find a positive trend towards science, innovation and scientific research, in addition to keep pace with global trends based on the dissemination of science and technology and the future developments expected from the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

More than 1,200 participants from 60 government, military and private sector organizations are taking part in the festival.

The festival is attended by international organizations such as the International Atomic Energy Agency, the European Organization for Nuclear Research and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

The festival hosts international speakers in various fields, along with more than 300 events including pioneering programming and robot competitions, hackathons, drone competitions, scientific shows on the festival stage, as well as science cinema.
