The Västra Götaland region has for some time had major problems with computers that crashed. One and the same computer model has been found to have a problem causing it to crash. In total, the Western Gothenburg region uses 17,000 computers of the same model. It is thus not only the care that has been affected, but all the operations in the Västra Götaland region.

- It is widespread throughout the region, it is a general problem. Hospitals and care are the most vulnerable, so that's what you prioritize, says Maria Skoglöf, Head of Department at the Västra Götaland Region's IT department.

In total, 4,000 computers should have been affected by the problems so far. About 900 hard drives have crashed in the NU healthcare system this past week, reports Dagens Nyheter. This has led to a staff position. So far, at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, you have not had to go into staff position, but you are following the situation closely.

"We believe this is a serious situation," Sara Degerman Carlsson told Borås newspaper.
