09 May 2019 Iran must continue to fully implement its "nuclear agreement" commitments and "refrain from any escalation step". This is stated in a joint statement by the High Representative for Foreign Policy, Federica Mogherini, and by the Foreign Ministers of France, Germany and the United Kingdom, stressing their "great concern" over the statements made by Iran on the will to not comply with some of the commitments set out in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the nuclear agreement).

"We reject any ultimatum" from Iran, the EU and the three countries said, asking Tehran to "continue to adhere to the formats and mechanisms" envisaged by the nuclear agreement. However, Mogherini and the three foreign ministers stressed that the International Atomic Energy Agency will be playing a "key role" to monitor and verify Iran's compliance with the nuclear agreement.
