November 06, 2019 According to the report of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), United Nations agency, 4.1 billion inhabitants of the planet are currently connected to the network. Compared to 2018, the increase was 5.3%.

48% of Internet users are women and 58% are men. In the last 10 years (2009-2019) the number of internet users has increased from 25.8% to 53.6%.

The highest percentage of network users is in Europe (82.5%), the lowest in Africa (28.2%). Not connected are 3.6 billion people, the vast majority of whom live in developing countries. The largest gap between connected women and men is recorded in Africa, Arab states and in the Asia-Pacific region.
