Magnus Eriksson, chairman of the trade union Municipality in Eskilstuna, thinks it is time for politicians to start taking action and taking responsibility.

- Nothing happens. It's time we got more resources. We only get fewer and fewer staff for each year, he says.

"Pooring our profession"

The municipality describes the staff's work environment as tough with high sick leave numbers and an increasing number of employees who quit.

- It's really sad when we meet talented employees who have decided to quit, because they can no longer cope. It depletes our profession.

Mikael Edlund (S), chair of the Board of Health and Care Services, is well aware of the tough situation.

- We must get more resources and here I give a big hope to the state power regarding both general and targeted state grants, he says.

Even tougher

The Board of Health and Care Services predicts that 2020 will be even tougher, even if the budget is the same as last year.

- We will ensure that nursing and care homes receive as little rationalization as possible. But if we are to have the opportunity to raise the staffing level at the accommodation, more money is needed as it is simple.
