The neighborhood, which will consist of a base in brick with four towers, is planned to be up to 15 storeys high and about 12,000 square meters in size. If the proposal becomes real, Jönköping will receive a new landmark.

- The project will be undergoing a new review until the turn of the year. But the main features are drawn and we look forward to realizing a landmark in Jönköping that will create opportunities for companies to benefit from the creative environment around Science Park and in direct connection with Jönköping University, says Magnus Olsson, CEO of Jönköping Municipality's Real Estate Development AB .

Have been reviewed before

But right now the proposal is in the detailed planning phase and next week the City Planning Board will decide to submit the proposal for review. It will not be the first time. In both 2016 and 2018, other proposals have been subject to review, but have been adjusted according to comments.

- We started talking about building this block already in 2012. The look has changed over the years. It is true that the public should say their own and have the opportunity to appeal, says Magnus Olsson.

But what is it that says this review will be the definitive one?

- We do not know, but we who work with this think we have made a very good proposal this time. We really hope it goes through.

And when can the block start being built in that case?

- The goal is autumn 2020 if it is sunny the whole trip. In that case, the whole house can be ready in the summer of 2022, says Magnus Olsson.

Another landmark Jönköpingsborna is waiting for is Höghushotellet in the Matchstick area. If everything goes as planned, two tall buildings will be ready by 2022.
