An Egyptian judicial source said that the Public Prosecution will not appeal the decision to release Amira, known as "girl of Ayat" and "girl of honor", on charges of killing a driver who tried to sexually assault her.

The source pointed out that the Egyptian prosecution is preparing the decision to refer the girl to court, in preparation for the start of her trial in the next few days.

After spending three months locked up behind bars, she left al-Ayat police station after being accused of murdering a driver who tried to rape her in the Ayat desert last July with 13 stab wounds.
