On Tuesday, the nominees for the Grand Journalist Prize were announced and VeckoRevyn's editor-in-chief Irena Pozar from Växjö is one of the nominees.

- I didn't think the jury would see the job we do at VeckoRevyn as prestigious enough to get a nomination. So I was shocked, says Irena Pozar.

Reviewed abuses at HVB homes

She has been acclaimed for VeckoRevyn's review of abuse at HVB homes.

- There is no journalism directed at young women. Storm media reaches young people and women, but these are not a priority target group. We fill that void and take young women seriously, she says.

"Will continue digging"

"She has given the teenage girls' unique trend Bible a new face as an examiner of both abuse and nail polish," the jury's motivation reads.

- We will continue to dig in under-guarded areas that affect young people. Economics with the target group in focus and exposure to crime are examples of interesting topics we are looking at, says Irena Pozar.

On November 21, the five categories of the Grand Journalist Prize will be awarded.
