November 06, 2019The death toll of an ambush in Burkina Faso against 37 convoys of soldiers escorted by local employees of the
Canadian mining company Semafo.

This was announced by a statement released by the governor of the Eastern region, Colonel Saidou Sanou. The ambush occurred about 40 kilometers from the Boungou mine.

At first the Semafo, which has its headquarters in Montreal, had spoken of "dead and wounded" due to the attack that, according to the colonel, was "carried out in the morning" by "unidentified armed individuals".
