It was on June 10 that a 44-year-old man threatened to blow up Malmö Central Station. The man was shot by police in the legs after he allegedly had a bomb and firearms in his bags. The central station was evacuated for several hours and train traffic was stopped.

The police informed after the incident that the threatening man had neither explosives nor weapons. He had to undergo a forensic psychiatric examination.

The man is not mentally ill

The district court considered the man guilty of grossly unlawful threats and threats against an official. At the trial, it emerged that the forensic psychiatric examination and the social council's judicial council's assessment were that the man committed the suspected acts under a serious mental disorder, but that he does not suffer from it today. This means that the man can be sentenced to prison.

Prison or custody

The man during the trial in August apologized for his actions and behavior on Malmö C.

- I've had a normal life before this happened. I have been in Sweden for a year. Had a job and could never imagine this would happen. I'm sorry, said the 44-year-old.

Prosecutor Thomas Olvmyr has pleaded guilty to 1.5 years in prison for the 44-year-old. If there is no imprisonment, he will seek conditional judgment or custody.

The defense demanded that the 44-year-old be released, which he did in anticipation of the verdict that will come at eleven o'clock.
