“Now at the final stage is the paperwork for the supply of sniper rifles. The delay did not arise from the Canadian side, but from partners who supply components. We hope that in the coming days or weeks this weapon will be in Ukraine, ”said Bondar, saying that this would expand the range of cooperation.

The diplomat also noted that during his recent visit to Canada, the parties discussed the possibility of creating a special consultation mechanism at the level of defense ministers.

According to him, this would make it possible to substantively talk about the needs of the Ukrainian army, transmit this information to Canada and immediately understand which weapons can be provided and which not.

“I hope the first such contact takes place at the end of November,” he added.

Earlier, US authorities approved the sale of 150 rockets for Javelin anti-tank missile systems and equipment for them in the amount of $ 39 million to Ukraine.

As noted by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, Ukraine needs to resolve the internal conflict, and the supply of such types of weapons will not solve these problems.
