“After deep reflection, I decided not to run for the upcoming presidential election,” RIA Novosti quoted Tusk as saying.
According to him, he would not want to hinder the opposition in the process of nominating candidates for the presidency of Poland.
“We need a candidacy that is not burdened with baggage of difficult, unpopular decisions ... And I have been burdened with such baggage from the time when I was the Prime Minister,” the head of the European Council explained.
At the same time, he promised to support representatives of the opposition in the upcoming presidential election.
