“The bill is aimed at providing Russian users of the Internet and communication services with the opportunity to use purchased equipment (smartphones, computers, televisions with Smart-TV function) without the need to install additional mobile applications and other computer programs aimed at working with Russian users of such devices” , - said in an explanatory note to the bill.

According to the initiative, the government will determine a list of devices that will be sold with pre-installed Russian programs, as well as a list of the applications themselves.

“The bill will protect the interests of Russian Internet companies, which will reduce the number of abuses by large foreign companies working in the field of information technology,” the authors of the bill explain.
