The 40-year-old man was released conditionally in April this year. A few weeks later he drove a car without a driver's license on two occasions. But it wasn't until September that he was arrested and arrested for a total of five offenses.

On September 14, when he was taken to the police station for another crime, he violently resisted two police officers. He also threatened the police and said he would harm them in various ways.
A few days later he was found with a knife inside a gas station.

"At 17 we will have the money"

On September 23, the 40-year-old stepped into a shop in Västerås and took the owner aside. He repeatedly stated that he would cut the throat of the shop owner if he did not receive SEK 10,000. The sum was then raised to SEK 30,000.
The 40-year-old also took a stranglehold on the shop owner and said "if you report this I will shoot you". He did not receive any money, but several witnesses heard him say "At 17 o'clock we will have the money" before he, and his partner who was waiting at the entrance, left.

Through several witnesses, the court has a clear picture of what happened in the store and decided to convict the 40-year-old for extortion and abuse in court case (when he threatened the shop owner not to report the incident). They also convict him for gross unlawful driving in two cases, as well as violent resistance, threats against an official and violations of the knife law.

The 40-year-old admits all the offenses except the blackmail which he thinks was not as serious as the prosecutor's case.

The sentence will be eight months imprisonment but since he committed the crimes while he was conditionally released, it will be extended by three months and land for a total of eleven months in prison.

He will also pay damages to the store owner of SEK 20,000.
