Emmanuel Macron will decorate Friday evening at the Elysée Jean-Paul Belmondo and Robert Hossein, two monuments of French cinema, which will receive respectively the insignia of Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor and Grand Officer of the National Order of Merit, a we learn from concordant sources.

The head of state will also decorate Friday evening the American designer Ralph Lauren.

"Bebel", one of the last sacred monsters of French cinema, shot some 80 films during his 50-year career. Emmanuel Macron had promoted him to a grand officer last July.

The actor invited to the Palais for this decoration discount several stars of the big screen, including Claude Lelouch and Jean Dujardin who answered present.

His great friend Robert Hossein, 91 years old, a man of cinema but also of theater, actor and director, was one of the craftsmen in France of the democratization of the theater and its decentralization in the region, creating from scratch the popular theater of Reims.

Already in May 2017, during his last week at the Elysee Palace, François Hollande decorated Jean-Paul Belmondo with the insignia of Grand Officer of the National Order of Merit, in front of the old accomplices of the "Magnifique", Robert Hossein, Guy Bedos, Charles Gerard or Yves Lecoq.

The son of Russian immigrants, Ralph Lifschitz, known as Ralph Lauren, 80, the creator of the eponymous brand that became the icon of American ready-to-wear, is at the head of a multinational with more than 450 stores worldwide.
