Two renovations are expected to commence in 2022. At the same time, Kungsgatan's sidewalks will be widened and accessibility improved. The cost will be just over SEK 250 million.

Kungsgatan is facing major renovation work. An over 100-year-old conduit tunnel that is still in use is collapsing and needs to be strengthened. Now the central street is forced to be excavated.
