During 2014-2018, Jönköpings Energi purchased the services of a consulting company around the now closed biogas company. The collaboration with the consulting company began in 2014, but only in January 2016 had a framework agreement been reached.

The consulting company has invoiced the biogas company approximately SEK 26 million, but only 10 million should have been procured within the framework agreement. Jönköping Energy now admits that there have been shortcomings in the management.

- We can conclude that we have several shortcomings in our work with consultants' procurement, says Fridolf Eskilsson, CEO Jönköping Energi in a press release.

- We started the collaboration on our biogas operations in 2014 without procurement and with a fact in hand we should have started our procurement earlier as the assignment became more extensive over time than we could have anticipated.

The collaboration ended

The biogas company was discontinued in 2018 and then the collaboration with the consulting company ended.

Consultancy firms hired by Jönköping Energi are the same companies that were hired by Eksjö housing companies to improve their management work. After a review of P4 Jönköping, it turned out that neither the housing company had made a proper procurement nor did it result in the company's CEO resigning last week.
