This Wednesday opens in Lyon the trial of a large network of prostitution of young women from Nigeria by a highly organized sector between Benin City and Lyon, since 2015. Once there, they were forced to repay thousands of euros before they can regain their freedom.

On the bench of the defendants, there are no less than 23 people. They are men and women, all of Nigerian nationality except for a Frenchman. Each of these protagonists is suspected of having played a very specific role in this vast network of prostitution , which would have yielded up to 150,000 euros per month.

"Mamas" pimps

From the head of the organization, Stanley Omoregie, a recruiting pastor to the van vendor for prostitutes, to pimps mamas to members laundering dirty money, all must answer for their actions before Justice.

Among them, Jessica Edosomwan, 26, one of the most wanted criminals in Europe by Interpol . The latter, however, will miss the call, failing to have been found by the police.

For the other defendants, it will be necessary to lift the veil on the manner in which they organized the daily life of these sex slaves, recruited in Nigeria and exploited on the Lyons sidewalks.

Ten years in prison

Each one of them incurs 10 years of imprisonment notably for help with irregular stay, aggravated pimping, human trafficking, money laundering all in organized gang. In front of the defendants, 17 prostitutes were constituted civil party as well as two associations specialized in the action against procuring.
