These are a large number of offices (see the full list below). 132 offices of today's 242 will be phased out gradually during 2019 and 2020.

- Reducing the office network is necessary. We are in the midst of a changeover process with a notice of 4,500 employees due to the budgetary conditions we have for the year. We cannot carry out such a large reduction in personnel without making changes in the number of offices, says Director General Mikael Sjöberg in a press release.

- With a reduced workforce, the office network must be adapted in order for the offices that remain to be provided with the conditions to offer an efficient service, booked physical personal meetings for those in need of extra support and a good working environment.

28 only for booked visits

There will be 106 offices with varying opening hours. However, 28 of these will not be open for spontaneous visits. (See list below.)

The Employment Service writes in its press release that it “plans to keep some smaller offices where the employment agents travel to receive pre-booked visits. This is to avoid too long distances for customers ”.

List would be supplemented

A few weeks ago, SVT was able to show a list of more than 60 offices that were proposed to remain - but the Director General of the Employment Service Mikael Sjöberg was clear that it would be supplemented, which it now does.

Earlier today, SVT was able to tell that the county boards are commissioned by the government to map the state service, after the Minister of Civil Affairs, Ardalan Shekarabi (S), ruled that a deterioration of the state presence cannot be accepted.

Shekarabis' colleague of the ministers Ylva Johansson (S) has previously said that one should be able to meet his employment services in all of Sweden's municipalities.
